South and West Regional Show and Conference 2011
Normally the society has a spring show in September, but this year we hosted, for the first time, the South and West Regional Show and Conference. This is a biennial event involving orchid societies from Albury-Wodonga, Batemans Bay, Canberra, Eurobodalla, Sapphire Coast (Bega), Wagga Wagga and Shoalhaven.
The Shoalhaven Orchid Spectacular was held on 1st – 2nd October at the Nowra High School, Moss Street, Nowra. Large orchid displays from the participating societies, as well as benches full of blooms, led to a truly magnificent orchid experience.
The show was open to the public from 9.00 am on Saturday and Sunday. A Lecture Program, with expert speakers from the orchid fraternity, covered a diverse range of topics. The Conference Dinner and Awards Presentation was held on Saturday evening, 1st October at the Nowra Golf Club.
